Dive Bars in Newport Beach

Newport Beach has a reputation for yachts and cocktail lounges, but its dive bars are right by the water. Mutt Lynch's on the boardwalk is the loudest of them, with cold beer, sports on every screen, and an ocean view; Stag Bar on McFadden Place is the most no-nonsense, drawing a genuinely mixed crowd; and Woody's Wharf has been pouring on the bay side of the peninsula since 1965. They're close enough to try all of them in one night. Some places on the peninsula still prefer cash, so bring some just in case.
